Terms of use

1. Purpose

Seryz is a mobile app for tracking training (strength work and circuit training). It is published by Billy Girboux, an independent developer. The app runs locally on your device and requires no account.

2. Licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for private purposes on devices you control. This licence transfers no ownership. You agree not to decompile, modify, redistribute or resell the app, except as permitted by applicable law.

3. Free of charge

The app is free and contains no in-app purchases. No feature is reserved for a paid tier. We cannot promise this model will hold forever, but the features you have today will not be moved behind a payment retroactively.

4. Health disclaimer

Seryz is a training log, not a medical service and not a coach. The figures it shows (estimated 1RM, volume, load suggestions) are indicative calculations from common formulas, with no knowledge of your fitness, technique or health.

• Seek advice from a healthcare professional before starting or resuming intense physical activity.
• Treat progression suggestions as hints, not instructions: match the load to how you feel that day.
• Stop an exercise if you feel unusual pain, and get qualified help with technique.
• You remain solely responsible for how you train and for the loads you handle.

5. Your data and your backups

Because your data is stored only on your device, keeping it is up to you. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or losing or resetting the phone means the data is gone for good, with no way for us to recover it. We recommend exporting a JSON backup from the settings regularly and keeping it off the device.

6. Availability and changes

The app is provided as is, with no commitment to availability, future compatibility or a fixed timeframe for fixes. Features may be added, changed or removed between versions, in particular to keep up with iOS and Android.

7. No warranty

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or freedom from error. No warranty is given as to the accuracy of statistics or estimates shown.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for indirect damages, loss of training data, injury sustained during a session, or any harm resulting from use of or inability to use the app. Mandatory consumer protections available to you still apply.

9. Intellectual property

The Seryz name, its logo, the app's interface and its code are protected. The content you enter (workouts, routines, notes) is yours: we have no access to it and claim no rights over it.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the app or to the legal framework. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date. Continuing to use the app after a change constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by French law. For any question or complaint, write to hello@seryz.app before taking any formal step: most things get sorted with a single message.
